Listen to your food cravings!

You have a sudden urge to eat… But you’re not really hungry. You’ve been upset and a little snack would do you a world of good. But as you are used to depriving yourself of food to lose weight, you (reluctantly!) prefer to throw yourself on a 0% calorie yoghurt rather than those biscuits you are so fond of.

But the yoghurt doesn’t soothe your mood. So you have another one. It’s still not enough. You need something more comforting. So you finally break down and decide to attack the biscuits. But instead of eating just a few, you devour the whole packet…to the last crumb! The result? You’ve eaten twice.

Instead, do the opposite: when you feel like eating for comfort when your stomach isn’t calling for it, ask yourself if that treat is what you really (really, really!) want. If it is, forget about your curves and indulge yourself, without shame or guilt, and enjoy it calmly, savouring every bit of it. You will see that the quantities consumed will be reduced accordingly. It will then be easier to regulate your consumption and to wait for hunger to return with more serenity.

Recognise and respect your hunger and satiety!

 If you haven’t eaten for a while, hunger can manifest itself as gurgling, a sudden urge to yawn or a pit in the stomach. Satiety, the absence of hunger, is the state we feel at the end of a meal or between meals when we are full.
Once you have decoded these sensations, you can then eat to your heart’s content and not beyond. Don’t worry if you can’t recognise these feelings yet. It will come.
