INGREDIENTS

– 4 boneless chicken legs
– 40g of soy sauce
– 100g of honey.
– 20g of sugar.
– 4g of five spices
– A pinch of powdered star anise (star anise)
– 1 drop or a pinch of red coloring (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1:- In a bowl put all the ingredients (soy sauce, honey, sugar, five spices, anise and coloring) mix well.
Step 2:- Marinate the chicken legs for 6 hours.
Step 3:- Place the chicken legs on the oven rack and cook until they are nicely colored, about 1 hour at 180o, turning the chicken regularly.
Step 4:- Make sure to have a nice caramelization
CHEF’S TIP: add a bowl of water in the oven during cooking to have a softer chicken)
