INGREDIENTS

– 250g flour
– 15g sugar
– 1/2 spoon yeast
– 10g vanilla sugar
– 75g butter
– 80g milk
– 1 egg
– 1 lemon
– 1g salt
– 10g amber rum (optional) 

 

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Mix the flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, and yeast until smooth.
Step 2: Melt the butter and add it to the flour with the lemon zest, milk, and rum. Mix well until a dough is obtained.
Step 3: Let the dough rest for 30 minutes.
Step 4:  Roll out the dough and cut it into 8 cm and 3 cm strips.
Step 5: Fry the dough in hot oil, drain and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

The chef´s special touch:
You can garnish your french doughnut with jam for more deliciousness and you can replace the rum with orange blossom essence.
